Why Schools need G Suite Enterprise for Education


Recently, Google released G Suite Enterprise for Education due to the high demand from educational institutions. As people may already know, there are two editions of education plan for schools: G Suite for Education and G Suite Enterprise for Education. Let’s explore the differences between the two.

G Suite for Education, the basic edition, contains essential Google Drive features such as institution-wide email, shared calendars, Google classroom that enables easy collaboration, Google Docs, Google Sites, and unlimited drive storage.


The features listed above are great to have, but what makes G Suite Enterprise for Education better is the video conferencing function as well as better security control and support services that this edition provides. 

For example, students and teachers can engage in a video call up to 50 participants with Hangouts Meet and it can be recorded. Security control functions wise, the enterprise edition contains advanced mobile device management and security control for managing potential threats. The price per faculty per month is equal to the price per student which is $4. Furthermore, for customers who purchased licenses in 2018, Google is offering an introductory price of $2 per faculty per month (same for students).
